Electrolytes are essential minerals that carry electrical charges, responsible for stimulating muscles, nerves and Brain in our body. Potassium, calcium, magnesium and Sodium regulate the amount of fluids throughout your body, which affect cellular function, blood volume and blood pressure. Whilst they all contribute to keeping the balance of fluid levels in the body.
Sodium (Na) is the major fluid regulator and plays also a key role in blood pressure regulation.
Potassium (Ka) – Ensures the Oxygen supply to the brain to keep it functioning and prevents strokes. Ka also stabilizes blood sugar levels and is key in the contraction and relaxation of muscles, maintaining optimum nerve and muscle functions. Ka plays a key role in the health of the heart and kidneys as it also assists in the regulation of fluids in the body.
Calcium (Ca) - Strengthens the bones, whilst protects our teeth and creates easy movement of nutrients across the cell membranes. Ca helps to maintain healthy pH levels, helps to regulate the nervous system and maintain the proper blood pressure in the arteries, whilst the cardiac muscles need extracellular calcium ions for contraction.
Magnesium (Mg) - Assists the movement of the blood sugar into your muscles and dispose of lactic acid which build up in muscles and cause pain. Whilst Mg increases energy levels, it relieves muscle aches and spasms, prevents headaches, calms the nerves and anxiety, aids insomnia and digestion.
